PREMIER League football star Saido Berahino has received a £3400 fine and received a 12-month driving ban for drink driving on the M6 at Thelwall Viaduct.

The 21-year-old West Bromwich Albion and England striker pleaded guilty to the offence at Halton Magistrates' Court today, Friday.

He was stopped on the southbound carriageway at 3.39am on October 22 by a Cheshire Police patrol car.

Berahino was said to be travelling at ‘high speed’ by officers at the scene.

The player is set to feature in his club’s next match against Everton at Goodison Park, on Monday.
