STAFF at a specialist RSPCA centre are still battling to save a seal found in a field off Winwick Road before Christmas.

The grey seal, who has since been named Dumbledore, was diagnosed with pneumonia after being found 20 miles inland on Red Bank Farm.

Alison Charles, manager of the centre in Norfolk where Dumbledore is being cared for, said: "He's still a poorly lad and not out of the woods by any stretch of the imagination.

"He has been x-rayed again and his lungs did look a bit better which shows the antibiotics are working and we have now put him on stronger antibiotics.

"The main thing we have got to work on is his appetite as he's not eating.

"Seals are a nightmare to nurse and he's given us many sleepless nights.

"But we're working as hard as we can and we will be reassessing him in a week so all readers can do is say a little prayer for him."
