AN animal charity in the town received a festive boost after a Birchwood-based IT support company decided to donate their Christmas card fund to the cause.

IDT Support donated more than £100 worth of items to Warrington Animal Welfare, based off Slutchers Lane, including pet food, toys, blankets and heated pads to keep the animals warm this winter.

Staff said they were happy to support the charity, set up to provide financial support for pet owners on low income to help them pay for pets to be neutered to reduce the amount of stray, abandoned and unwanted pets in the town.

Rebecca Worrall, IDT’s PR and marketing executive, said: "I have seen the amazing work of the volunteers at Warrington Animal Welfare, we believed they deserved our money the most and we hope to continue working and raising money for them in the future."

Kath Jones, from Warrington Animal Welfare, added everyone at the cause was very grateful for items that were 'needed most in the winter'.
