DETECTIVES have released CCTV as they look for information after a shop worker at Sainsbury's Local in Stockton Heath suffered a head wound when he asked a man to leave his dog outside the store.

The man threw a bottle of wine at the worker during the incident at 8.25pm on Sunday.

Images taken from in-store CCTV footage have been released today.

Police say the man entered the store with his dog and was told by the victim to take the dog outside before he would be served.

The man then threw a bottle of wine at the male employee, leaving him with a significant wound to his head which required hospital treatment.

The attacker is described as white, aged in his early 30s, 5ft 11ins tall, of heavy muscular build, with short dark hair and a local accent.

His neck was heavily tattooed and he was wearing a green jacket.

The offender made off on foot prior to police arrival and a search was made of the area but he was not traced.

DC Richard Kennedy said: "We need to get the offender locked up.

“This type of behaviour is unacceptable and will not be tolerated, I would urge anyone with information to contact me.”
