A MYSTERY group of Good Samaritans are determined to inspire a culture of kindness in schools, homes and communities by surprising strangers with ‘one act of random kindness at a time’.

From paying for a weekly shop to delivering treats to all the staff at a primary school or care home, members of Davey’s Acts of Random Kindness (DARK) have been surprising people with small gestures that make a big difference.

DARK, which has been in action for the past couple of months, was set up following the sudden death of Davey Fallon in 2013, aged 20.

The 20-year-old from Newton-le-Willows died following an accident at Saxon Park, Warrington.

The group’s kind-hearted members, who have asked to remain anonymous, have been going out of their way to brighten up people’s days in memory of Davey.

No matter how big or small, the group knows how important it is to help make people smile when times are tough.

A spokesman for DARK said: “The founding members of the group wanted to remember Davey in such a way that inspired others and gave something back to the community - to make people smile.

“What better ways to accomplish this than acts of random kindness?”

Other generous offerings include delivering cookies to police and fire stations and paying for families to enjoy events.

The group has also used money from fundraisers to sponsor Newton FC U13s and Newton Storm U13s.

Other charities have also benefited from the group’s work.

Members plan to continue with their efforts in order to make a difference to the lives of complete strangers and inspire others to practice kindness and pass it on.

The spokesman added: “The members of DARK hope that in remembering Davey through kindness, their actions will inspire the community to strive to make someone smile every day, and that the world can be changed – one act of random kindness at a time.”
