TWO more famous faces have shown their support for the annual Warrington Guardian and BiG Storage Active Christmas toy appeal.

Coronation Street actress Sue Nicholls and comedian John Thomson have joined the star-studded line-up of celebrities who are already backing the festive campaign.

Sue, who plays Audrey Roberts in the ITV soap, is a patron of the Together Trust which is one of the charities to benefit from this year’s gift collection.

She said: “I know from my involvement with the Together Trust over many years how much the gifts are appreciated.

“I encourage everyone reading this to donate to the appeal and play your part to help disadvantaged children and young people have a brighter, happier Christmas.”

John added: “The toys and gifts they receive will help children in our area who are challenged with life threatening conditions and disabilities as well as those who really have nothing at Christmas.

“The gifts the people of Warrington provide really will make a difference this year.”

The appeal was launched to make sure no child goes without this Christmas.

All donated gifts must be unwrapped and presents are needed for babies, children, and teens up to aged 16.

Toy appeal coordinator Paul Whittaker said: “It just shows how this year’s appeal is touching everyone.

“From Mrs Johnson an 87-year-old lady from Woolston who again donated three large bags of toys this week after seeing the appeal in the Guardian, to Sue and John who have been fabulous in raising the appeals profile.”
