MEET Santa's little helpers.

Our team of toy-testers helped the big man in red out this week playing with the top toys youngsters in Warrington will be asking for this Christmas.

Staff at The Entertainer shop in the Golden Square said the store has been getting busier since half term as excited children and parents prepare for December 25 but so far there has been one big seller.

Ann-Marie Sackfield, senior supervisor at the store, said anything from the Disney film Frozen had been flying off the shelves.

She added: "There's limited stock of the Frozen Snow Glow Elsa Singing Doll so there could be some fights over that one!

"Our advice to shoppers at this time of year is to always buy it as you see it to avoid disappointment and look around with your kids to give you some ideas."

Evie Gillespie, aged seven, and Kitty Ivins, aged six, said the Frozen doll was one of their favourites as they loved the film and the doll's dress but they also had a soft spot for the 'fun' Robo Mermaid, swimming in her own tank, and aiming their pink Nerf Rebelle gun at the target practice.

The boys Finlay and Harry Smith, aged six and four, also made a beeline for the guns in the shape of a Nerf N Strike Elite Demolisher 2-in-1 Blaster, which can fire two types of ammo, and the 'biggest and baddest' transformer Chomp and Stomp Grimlock.

But all four our toy-testers were in agreement over interactive baby monster Xeno, which lets the odd 'burp and parp' out when his tummy is squeezed, and family game Juggle U where players have to catch balls launched into the air.

Overall the scores on the doors were:

  • 10 for the Frozen doll
  • 10 for the boys' Nerf N Strike Elite Demolisher 2-in-1 Blaster guns
  • Baby monster Xeno scored 9
  • 9 for the Juggle U game
  • 8 for the Robo Mermaids
  • And 8 for Chomp and Stomp Grimlock

Anything to do with the film 'Frozen' is popular this year...
