THEY may be lucky to some but as Warrington animal charities mark National Black Cat Day they are hoping to find homes for some of the unlucky black cats yet to find new owners.

Warrington Animal Welfare, based on Slutchers Lane, has a number of monochrome moggies in need of a loving home and say often black cats are overlooked because of their colour.

The centre will be open on National Black Cat Day today, Thursday, and throughout this weekend for anyone that does have room for a new pet.

Call 748637 or visit warringtonanimalwelfare.org.uk for more information.

Cats Protection's Warrington Adoption centre also has many black and black and white cats looking for new homes.

Two of these are Jacko and Sarafina.  Jacko is a three-year-old neautered male and a very friendly boy with an independent spirit.

He needs an owner who has the time and patience to give him tender, loving care and get to know him and his special little ways.

Sarafina is a five-year-old female who is a loving, playful cat that loves to be stroked and cuddled. She has three legs but it doesn't hold her back and she has a loveable, quirky personality.
