A GANG who used a crack house in Padgate to peddle drugs and terrorise neighbours has been jailed.

The four men used the terraced property on 5 Unsworth Court as a den to deal crack cocaine and heroin.

Christopher Seddon, aged 29, formerly lived at the address, allowing drug users inside to buy from Liverpool dealers.

He was jailed for three years at Chester Crown Court after pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of class A drugs

Grant McDonald, aged 22, James Watts-Weston, aged 18, and Ian Helm, aged 24, all from Liverpool, were also jailed.

McDonald and Helm were sentenced to 30 months in prison, and Watts-Weston to two years in a Young Offender's Institute.

As revealed in the Warrington Guardian, the crack house was shut down in July after a closure order was approved at Chester Magistrates Court.

That came after a raid by Cheshire Police at Unsworth Court that saw Seddon, McDonald, Watts-Weston and Helm arrested.

Around 360 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin were recovered, worth £3,600.

Neighbours had reported youths associated with the house drinking in the street and acting aggressively.

Children were unable to play outside, they said, with cars broken into.

Seddon was thought to be in a relationship with resident Lorraine McTaggart, aged 28, who was evicted.

According to Facebook, the two were engaged.

The whereabouts of Ms McTaggart are not known.

Neighbours had reported to Affinity Sutton, which owns the property, McTaggart was witnessed having sex with 'multiple partners', while different men often visited the address.

Following the court case, Sgt Darren Burns, of Warrington East NPU, said: "This warrant formed part of Operation Impact and reinforces the commitment that police and partner agencies have in targeting those individuals that undermine our communities and bring misery to residents through their involvement in organised crime and illegal drugs.

"This sort of behaviour can have a major impact on local communities.

"It is an issue the force takes extremely seriously and we devote all the resources we can to tracing those responsible and disrupting their behaviour."
