A WARFARE specialist is celebrating after graduating from the Royal Navy's largest training establishment.

Seaman Shaun Payne, from Warrington, has completed his phase two training with Victory Squadron from the HMS Collingwood in Hampshire.

Joining the Royal Navy in November 2013, Shaun is now looking forward to continuing his professional training at HMS Collingwood before joining his first ship.

Speaking about his career so far, the 18-year-old said: "The highlight was our week in Wales doing adventurous training.

"We were also involved in helping the local people who were flooded at the beginning of the year."

Shaun joined the Maritime Warfare School at HMS Collingwood after completing his basic training at HMS Raleigh.

At HMS Collingwood he undertook the warfare specialist training course to learn how to set up and operate the Royal Navy’s systems that provide information to ships on air and surface activities.

HMS Collingwood provides training to all officers of the Royal Navy in a range of areas, which includes weapon engineering, communications, and warfare.
