THIS was the scene following a light aircraft crash at the weekend which three people miraculously walked away from with only cuts, bruises and minor leg injuries.
Fire crews, a North West Ambulance Service helicopter, a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance were sent to a field off Normans Lane in Higher Whitley on Saturday at 2.30pm after reports of a small aircraft crashing.
But two of the passengers climbed out of the aircraft with cuts and bruises while a third was taken to Warrington Hospital with minor leg injuries.
Emergency services said they had an incredibly lucky escape.
