WHEN her two eldest children are calling out for mum from their bedroom there is nothing Wendy Pitts can do.

For the mum-of-four has been left effectively cut off from their room because they are in the third floor of her home and Wendy suffers from mobility problems which leave her in a wheelchair.

She and her family were moved into the Calgarth Avenue property in Bewsey by Plus Dane but with her mobility becoming more of an issue she has been asking to be moved.

Wendy said: "It's been two years that we have been fighting to get out of the house into a normal two storey home.

"The housing trust are throwing every spanner in the works, they say they won't move me into a house that isn't ready for me but they will take those adaptations out of available properties before it goes on the market again."

Life has been hard for the family as they struggle on in the home.

"I have had to put my two eldest girls on the top floor," added Wendy. "But I can't get up to them if they need someone. Officers said they would just have to have their dad come to see them.

"We have had to move our room to the box room at the bottom, we can fit the bed in but can't close the door.

"Just a two storey house would be enough."

The 34-year-old said she had been told they could not let her move into a property which is not prepared due to health and safety grounds but Wendy says that rule is leaving her in a catch 22 situation.

Wendy said: "They won't let me bid on any properties unless a house with a lift comes up and they aren't around.

"They said it already has to be done before we would move in but they take out these adaptations."

A spokesman for Plus Dane said: “We understand Mrs Pitts' frustrations with her current circumstances. As soon as we were made are of the problems she is experiencing we began working with her to identify a suitable solution to meet her needs, which we hope to resolve as soon as possible.”
