THE book shop is back.
And staff at Waterstones in Golden Square Shopping Centre are living proof that the public is coming back to book shops after its manager won a national award.
Matt Harrop picked up manager of the year at the company awards last week just a year after taking over the store.
The store's attempts to encourage more people in store, with window displays focusing on children's books and getting families through the door.
The 49-year-old from Penketh said: "Over the last year the bookshop business has begun to start recovering and Warrington is one of the best performing stores in the country. People are coming back to the bookshop.
"We focus really heavily in trying to attract children and families and have made lots of space for families to sit together.
"It's as much a reflection on the team as well, it's good having the strategy but it is the people working here, they all chip in.
"We have also had good book launches with local authors too."
