RESPITE care for people with learning disabilities will be revamped under plans to see the service move to Woodleigh Resource Centre.
The council's executive board approved a £700,000 scheme which will see the services from James Phoenix House transfer to new facilities at the Callands Road base.
Clr Pat Wright, executive board member for health and wellbeing and adult services, told the meeting on Monday at the Town Hall: "This is a good news story. Prior to 2011 it was in the budget to close James Phoenix House altogether but we came into administration and kept it open.
"The proposal is to support the transfer of learning facilities respite to James Phoenix House on the same site as Woodleigh."
