THERE will be a ‘fever’ in Warrington as indie band Starsailor play a homecoming show at the Parr Hall.

The quintet includes Warrington’s Ben Byrne and James ‘Stel’ Stelfox who met at St Oswald’s Primary School.

They have announced a gig on Thursday, December 18, after reforming earlier in the year when they supported James at Manchester’s Summer in the City.

Starsailor have sold more than three million records worldwide and have had 10 top 40 records including Fever, Good Souls and Silence is Easy.

The band was formed when best mates Ben and Stel met James Walsh and Barry Westhead at Wigan and Leigh Music School.

They bonded over Led Zeppelin, The Doors, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Queen and Pearl Jam.

And an NME review of one of their gigs led to a bidding war by record labels in 2000.

Starsailor have since scooped numerous accolades including ‘Britain’s Best New Band’ and ‘Brightest New Hope’ award and have shared a stage with the likes of The Rolling Stones, The Police, The Killers and U2.

Tickets are £17.50 and go on sale on Friday. Visit pyramidparrhall.com or call 442345.
