A PASSION for car construction saw a back garden enthusiast get his pride and joy quite literally carried away.

Nick Brough, of Shakleton Close, Old Hall, had to call in the help of an industrial crane to move his replica car.

He said: "Around eight years ago I began the construction of a replica GT40 in a shed in my back garden. I got to the stage where I needed to bring the chassis out of the shed and into my garage, to reassemble the body refit the engine and finish the build.

"In order to do this I had to crane the chassis from the back garden, and out over the roof of our house."

Nick hopes to finish off the full car next year.
