A MAN arrested on suspicion of owning a dangerous dog has pleaded not guilty at Halton Magistrates Court on Thursday.
Stephen Johnstone, of Archer Avenue, will now stand trial in December after his dog allegedly attacked Patricia Bowler on August 21 on Clarke Avenue.
The court heard how Mrs Bowler had been out walking her own dog when the incident took place.
Johnstone, who was overcome with emotion during the hearing, denied that his dog acted dangerously.
The 42-year-old must now keep all dogs in his possession on a lead and muzzle when outside.
