HEALTH chiefs from NHS England have recommended the CCA Care Partnership, which includes GP practices in Culcheth, Appleton and Chapelford, splits and returns to three individual practices.

The news follows the contract with the CCA Partnership being terminated in March by mutual consent due to management problems. Since then a caretaker practice has been managing the service and providing clinical leadership until June 30, 2015.

A tendering process will now take place for all three practices to find new providers of primary medical care services.

Warrington North MP Helen Jones said she welcomed the recommendation.

She added: “Everyone in Culcheth, who is a patient at the CCA surgery, was aware of the problems at the practice before NHS England intervened last March.

“It is important that some stability is restored – the care taker solution had to come to an end sooner rather than later.

“It makes sense to split the CCA practices which, because of their geographical locations were difficult to manage.

“ NHS England are promising no changes in patient services except for improvements and I hope they live up to that promise.”
