Netball teams do their bit for breast cancer fight

First published in

NETBALL teams from across the town helped raise more than £450 in aid of Cancer Research UK’s fight against breast cancer.

A charity tournament at the Warrington Sport for All Centre in Latchford saw ‘Back to netball’ and club level teams compete from 10am until 3.30pm to win the champagne cup and the chardonnay cup.

Cash was raised through team entry fees and a raffle with one team also raising an additional £1,477 through a Justgiving page.

Organisers said they were ‘overwhelmed’ by the amount of support for the event and are now hoping to make it an annual competition.
