AN Orford woman said she carried all the inspiration she needed with her to leap more than 15,000 ft from a plane in aid of Young Dementia UK.

Carol Bevin took on the challenge after her mum Maureen was diagnosed with dementia aged 56 and died in December 2012 after what Carol describes as ‘eight solid years of torment.

The 45-year-old said: “Dementia took half of my heart away and ripped my childrens’ hearts to pieces.

“My life will never be the same again after watching a mum go from being a strong woman who made everything right in my life to me being her mum and protecting her like I did my children.

“I was really scared of jumping but I had a picture of my gorgeous mum and my brother Anthony who are in heaven with me.”

Carol, who has so far raised more than £750, was joined on the jump by her friend John Jackson.
