POLICE are investigating if a man found dead in a Widnes hotel room had been to Creamfields.

They were called shortly before 5.30am on Sunday to a Travelodge on the outskirts of Widnes.

They had been alerted by ambulance staff who found a 22-year-old struggling to breathe.

He was taken to Whiston Hospital but died.

It is believed he may have been to Creamfields in Daresbury the night before.

A police spokesman said: "Cheshire Police have launched an investigation.

"The cause of the man's death is being treated as unexplained including whether it was in any way drug related."

A post mortem examination will now take place. The man's next of kin have been informed.
