KERRY Katona's fiance got an icy soaking as part of a charity campaign that has swept the globe.

George Kay, who will wed Kerry in the next few weeks, took part in the ice bucket challenge in his future mother-in-law's garden in Warrington.

The challenge involves people having a bucket of icy water poured over their heads before nominating friends or celebrities to do the same.

George nominated Kerry's former bandmate Liz McClarnon and singer Ritchie Neville.

The craze went viral online after the family of an American baseball player diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) encouraged people to take part to raise awareness of the condition.

Those who take the challenge are encouraged to donate money to the ALS Association, known as Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in the UK.

Celebrities including David Beckham, Britney Spears and Oprah Winfrey have posted videos of themselves being doused in icy water online – and have then gone on to nominate the likes of Stephen Spielberg and Leonardo DiCaprio to do the same.
