BUS passengers have been ‘kicked in the teeth’ by Network Warrington, it has been claimed.

The price increase by the bus company has been described as ‘unacceptable’ by councillor Sue Bland (Culcheth, Glazebury and Croft - CON) while Culcheth, Glazebury and Croft parish councillor Paul Campbell said he was ‘dismayed’ by the increase.

Clr Bland said: “Now we find that the bus company has yet again kicked the people of Warrington in the teeth with these unacceptable price increases.

“I will be contacting the chairman of the bus company to ask for an urgent meeting to discuss the whole matter of the future of travel by bus throughout Warrington.”

Clr Campbell added that he believes the people of Warrington deserve better.

He said: I am calling for an open and honest consultation with all stakeholders about the future of the bus company.

“The current set-up is not working - not for customers, not for staff who recently went on strike, and not for council tax payers who are losing money on all this.”
