NEW screens at Warrington Central Station will help keep commuters better informed during times of disruptions, it has been claimed.

First TransPennine Express (FTPE) has replaced the standard poster cases with 46inch LED screens, which will provide a faster delivery of travel information and updates to customers.

Billy Vickers, Manchester Hub Stations Manager, said: “This significant investment demonstrates our commitment to keeping customers fully informed.

“The screens give us the ability to send real time information which is particularly important during times of disruption.”

Council leader Clr Terry O'Neill, added: "The screens will be a great asset at Central Station and will provide a valuable facility for passengers.

“We very much appreciate investment at our railway stations as keeping people on the move is an important aspect in Warrington's ambitious growth plans."

FTPE is also working closely with stakeholders to bring in live bus information for those customers wanting onward travel in the future.
