THE NSPCC has launched an appeal in Warrington to find willing volunteers to host a Big Packed Lunch in September.

The nationwide event on September 17 will raise money to fund the ChildLine Schools Service, which uses trained volunteers to deliver workshops and assemblies to 9 to 11 year olds to educate them about child abuse.

Since its launch, the service has visited 37 schools in Warrington and spoken to 2,763 children but more money is needed to enable volunteers to attend all primary schools in the town.

The Big Packed Lunch encourages people to make a creative and unusual lunch and to donate the money that would have been spent buying your normal lunchtime meal to the charity.
