LABOUR Parliamentary candidate Nick Bent has said Government cuts are putting more pressure on Warrington Hospital.
Figures revealed through a Freedom of Information request found in Warrington elderly households applying for home adaptations shot from 93 applications in 2010/11 to 161 applications in 2013/14 with the number of completed adaptations falling over the same period by three per cent.
Mr Bent said a falling number of home adaptations is contributing to a record level of delayed discharges from hospitals.
He added: “Older people in Warrington deserve dignity in their old age.”
