THIS was the scene after a blaze in flats on Greenings Court on Friday.
A joint Cheshire Fire and police investigation is now under way into the cause of the flames at 5.10pm.
Firefighters said smoke and flames were coming out of the balcony window of a first floor flat when they arrived and spreading towards the balconies above.
Luckily nobody had been trapped in the building, off Battersby Lane, and the blaze was tackled by crews outside before firefighters went inside wearing breathing apparatus.
A Cheshire Fire spokesman added: “Firefighters prevented the fire from spreading further and then used a specialist fan to clear smoke from the flats.
“Housing officials were also informed to assess whether any tenants were likely to need temporary rehousing.”
