FIREFIGHTERS spent more than four hours at Fiddlers Ferry power station last night after a blaze started close to one of the cooling towers.
Crews were called at 4.45pm to reports of a fire involving an oxy-acetylene cylinder and set up a cordon before fighting the flames.
Firefighters eventually left the scene at 9.30pm after cooling the cylinder.
