TEN per cent of residents in the town will have take action to join the new register due to changes to electoral registration system.
Letters are expected to be sent out to all residents to inform them of the changes to the way people register to vote.
The new system, Individual Electoral Registration, will allow people to register online for the first time.
The council expects that the majority of residents will not have to do anything but it is expected that approximately 10 per cent of residents will not automatically be transferred to the new electoral register.
To register visit gov.uk/register-to-vote or for more information call 442184 or e-mail elections@warrington.gov.uk.
