THE Bishop of Warrington says the anniversary of the start of the First World War is a time to reflect.
The Rt Rev Richard Blackburn will be attending services today, Monday, to mark the 100th anniversary since fighting began.
The Rt Revd Richard Blackburn, Bishop of Warrington said “Like so many I will be taking time on Monday to pause, reflect and pray as we mark the centenary of the start of hostilities in WW1.
“As conflicts continue around the world and so many suffer the horrors of war we salute those in previous generations who fought for the ideal that there would be an end to all fighting.
“My prayer is we continue to honour their sacrifice and work towards a lasting peace between all nations and all faiths.”
