Rixton road rage murderer jailed for 15 years

First published in News

A LORRY driver who murdered a granddad driving over his head has been jailed for a minimum of 15 years.

Mark Slater, aged 47, was found guilty of murder yesterday, Tuesday, and was handed the life sentence following a week-long trial.

Chester Crown Court heard the Oldham man had ploughed into Trevor Allen from Swinton during a fit of road rage driving his 17-tonne lorry on Manchester Road in Warrington in February.

During sentencing judge Robert Kay commented he believed Slater intended to kill Mr Allen.

Justice for the family of Trevor Allen. Sad thing is there's plenty of nutters like Slater on the roads. Let's hope many more get caught and locked up
