A LORRY driver who murdered a granddad driving over his head has been jailed for a minimum of 15 years.
Mark Slater, aged 47, was found guilty of murder yesterday, Tuesday, and was handed the life sentence following a week-long trial.
Chester Crown Court heard the Oldham man had ploughed into Trevor Allen from Swinton during a fit of road rage driving his 17-tonne lorry on Manchester Road in Warrington in February.
During sentencing judge Robert Kay commented he believed Slater intended to kill Mr Allen.
