LIVEWIRE put on a blooming good show to win a silver medal at this year’s RHS Tatton Flower Show.

In partnership with Golden Gates Housing Trust, Cheshire Probation Trust and The Walton Lea Partnership the award was won in the show’s garden category with their grassy and blooming pasture entitled My Garden.

The plot was designed to represent many of the gardens found across Warrington as well as to show a picturesque and aesthetically pleasing area which is both low cost and sustainable.

To show just how green the fingers of LiveWire actually are almost all the materials used in the project were recycled goods which show how it plans to protect the environment - as well as helping to keep the overall cost of the design down too.

Although the show has now finished, the garden will be brought back to LiveWire’s Orford Jubilee Park for residents to take inspiration from.

The garden designer and park keeper, Alan Nugent said: “The garden was originally designed to inspire Golden Gates Housing tenants to take ideas and develop their own gardens. We want to show everyone that gardening doesn’t have to be expensive and can be fun.”

Peter Mercer, Chief Executive of the Golden Gates Housing Trust added: “It’s a great example to show residents what can be achieved. Well done to all.”
