A MAN accused of stealing goods from TK Maxx in the Golden Square has been grabbed following a foot chase by police through Warrington town centre.

The hot pursuit ended minutes ago after the suspect ran into the multi-storey car park at the Old Market.

PC Dan Smith led the chase through Palmyra Square, Bridge Foot and Bridge Street.

The man was arrested at 4.45pm today, Tuesday, and taken to Arpley Street police station in a riot van for questioning.

Officers from Warrington Town Centre NPU were called to reports of shoplifting.

It is not yet known what has been stolen.
