A WIDNES man who stole copper cable worth £4,500 from his Lymm employer has been told to do 330 hours unpaid work.
Philip John Murray, aged 30, of Frank Street, stole the cable when working for ADM Regeneration Ltd, which is based on Warrington Lane.
The incident happened on May 15, this year, at a building site on Derbhy Road, Widnes.
Halton Magistrates Court heard Murray was seen on CCTV taking three 40m coils of copper cable from the site.
The defendant, who pleaded guilty to theft, was also fined and told to pay costs.
