A LARGE crowd gathered under a specially erected big top in Warrington town centre on Saturday for a unique concert.
The town was treated to its first Proms in the Park event under the canvas on Bank Park next to the Town Hall.
The 75 Engineer Regiment teamed up with Warrington Borough Council to organise the event to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the First World War.
And the large crowd, many armed with picnics and deckchairs, enjoyed live music and performances from The Band and the Corps of Drums of the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment, The Warrington Pipe Band and Danielle Louise Thomas, Mezzo Soprano.
All proceeds from the event will go ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, Combat Stress and St Rocco’s Hospice.
