A SUSPECTED thief suffered serious leg injuries and had to be rescued from Dallam Brook by police on an inflatable raft.
Two men were arrested on Wednesday, following reports of an attempted car theft on Hawleys Lane.
Police were called to the area at 11pm following a report of two people attempting to break into a business.
One man was later found stuck in Dallam Brook.
A rescue operation took place and one man, aged 27, from Liverpool was pulled onto a longboard and inflatable raft before being taken to Warrington Hospital.
The man, who was treated for serious leg injuries, was later arrested at Warrington Hospital and released on bail.
A second man, aged 19, from Warrington was later arrested near to the scene.
He has also been released on bail.
