GET on a Brompton bike for £1 when you sign up to the scheme.

The scheme allows you to borrow a bike from three venues in the town for £2.50 for 24 hours with a frequent membership or at £5 a day with a leisure membership.

But there is a special offer running at the moment to sign up to the lesiure scheme for £1 and get two days free hire.

This week there are a series of demonstrations on railway platforms at Warrington Central and Bank Quay stations.

There are three ‘Docks’ in Warrington holding 60 of the folding bikes outside Warrington Central, Warrington Bank Quay and Birchwood railway stations.

Once hired bikes can be used for commuting around Warrington or can be folded up and taken with you for your ongoing journey on the bus, taxi or train.  They can be returned to any of the Brompton docks in Warrington or at any of the docks in any of the 17 Brompton Dock locations around the UK.

The hire scheme forms part of the council’s Warrington Sustainable Travel Triangle Project, which is funded by the government’s Local Sustainable Transport Fund and aims to provide Warrington with sustainable and low carbon travel choices.

Clr Linda Dirir, executive member for highways transportation and climate change, said: "The Brompton Dock Bicycle Hire scheme is a brilliant and convenient idea. It is inexpensive, handy for commuting and great on those lovely summer days when you simply fancy a bike ride in the sunshine."
