A WOMAN needed ‘life-saving’ treatment at Warrington Hospital after a glass attack in a town centre bar saw her lose a critical amount of blood, according to Cheshire Police.
Officers say the 35-year-old victim required emergency attention due to severe blood loss stemming from a ‘deep wound’ to her face, after being struck with a glass by another woman.
The ‘unprovoked attack’ happened in Cromwells on Bridge Street at 1.20am on Sunday.
Police say the female victim was talking to a man at the bar when another woman approached and smashed the glass into her face.
A police spokesman said: “Officers were concerned about the seriousness of the victim’s injuries and decided to take her to hospital where she received life-saving medical attention.”
Door staff at the pub managed to detain a woman, aged 36, who was arrested and subsequently bailed ‘while investigations continue’.
