FOLK punk legend Frank Turner will be performing in Warrington on Friday, September 26.

The Recovery and The Way I Tend To Be singer usually does arena tours due to demand.

But the 32-year-old said on Twitter that ‘the idea for this tour is to play towns we don't usually make it to’.

Frank will be playing at the Parr Hall with his backing band, The Sleeping Souls.

Tickets are on sale on Friday at 9am and are anticipated to sell out fast.

Frank started a band called Kneejerk at school when he was growing up in Hampshire. He was first inspired by Iron Maiden’s album, Killers.

The singer-songwriter then fronted London post-hardcore band Million Dead in 2001 and recorded two albums.

But listening to a tape of Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska convinced him to change his musical style.

The vegetarian and teetotaler has since released five albums including breakthrough album, England Keep My Bones.

Frank’s touring schedule for the CD saw him play at the 2012 Summer Olympics opening ceremony and headline Wembley Arena.

Success was to follow with Tape Deck Heart which peaked at number two in the UK album charts.

It was recorded in LA with Rich Costey who has worked with Sigur Rós and Muse.

The prolific musician also tours the country with his side project Möngöl Hörde.

The hardcore band includes former Million Dead drummer Ben Dawson and Sleeping Souls’ keyboardist Matt Nasir on guitar.
