AN award winning gospel singer will be helping to kick off the fun surrounding Disability Awareness Day.
Praise and Worship song of the year winner Godfrey Birtill will be performing in the event’s arts marquee at Walton Hall tomorrow, Wednesday.
The gospel singer is a well-known star in the religious community boasting an array of musical talents and a mammoth discography.
Originally a Lancashire man, Godfrey looks forward to going back to his routes.
He said: “I am looking forward to heading back to that neck of the woods when I arrive in Cheshire to play the DAD Week gig in Warrington.
“It’s always a good feeling to return home.”
Disability Awareness Day takes place on Sunday at Walton Hall Gardens but there will be a range of activities running throughout the week in the town in the build up to the annual event organised by Warrington Disability Partnership.
Godfrey has stated his admiration for its chief organiser, Dave Thompson. Godfrey said: “I was very impressed by what I heard the charity delivers on a daily basis. It will be a great opportunity for me to spread the good news and connect with the audience.”
Godfrey performs from 7pm to 10pm.
