First published in News

FIRE crews have been dealing with a serious house blaze in Winwick this afternoon.

Five fire engines were called to Gerosa Avenue at 2.50pm to tackle the flames in a semi-detached bungalow.

A Cheshire Fire spokesman said: "Crews wearing breathing apparatus used two main jets and two hose reels to extinguish the fire, gaining access to the loft in the property next door where the fire had spread."

Firefighters are currently damping down the scene.

WG needs a section for readers to upload pictures - someone could have taken a couple of shots and sent them in for this and loads of other incidents around the borough. Much better than your library pics of a cop car, fire engine, or the dreaded Helen Jones outside parliament pictures.
