ORGANISERS have hailed another successful Tom Sephton Memorial Trophy tournament at the weekend with thousands of people turning out to show their support for the Armed Forces.
The fifth annual event began in memory of Great Sankey soldier Tom Sephton after his sad death serving his country in Afghanistan in 2010.
But this year tributes were also paid to rugby league stalwart Hilary Steel after her death earlier this year with Crosfields Ladies ARLFC and Army Rugby League Ladies battling it out for a memorial plate named after her.
Cash raised on the day will go towards the Army Benevolent Fund-The Soldiers Charity and organisers wanted to thank everyone who helped and supported the event.
