ALL that glitters was gold in Thelwall on Saturday for the annual Rose Queen event.
To mark the 50th anniversary of the popular summer festival, floats in the procession through the village were themed around gold.
So visitors enjoyed goldilocks, gold bullion at the bank, the golden age of the Pharaohs in Ancient Egypt, pirates and the thrill of the Gold rush.
Eva Lavender-Callow, a year seven pupil at King’s, was crowned rose queen on the day, taking over from Mary Connors.
The children from Thelwall Infants School went the extra mile in creating their float, making collages, stitched butterflies, and photographs to make it look extra special.
The youngsters, from reception, year one and year two, took on board the school’s motto of honesty, trust, cooperation, perseverance, friendship, thoughtfulness and respect.
