IT was a battle of minds when pupils from primary schools across the town stepped up to the Academics Primary Challenge on Monday at Woolston Primary School.
The quiz, which is based on the school curriculum, was launched to celebrate gifted and talented pupils in year four and five.
Youngsters from Oughtrington, St Oswald’s, St Thomas’, Westbrook Old Hall and Woolston Primary School took part in the competition but it was St Wilfrid’s Primary School in Grappenhall who took home the trophy.
The challenge was organised by Academics, a local education agency who specialise in supplying teachers and teaching assistants into schools.
Academics manager Zoe Allen said: “It has been great to get out of the office and into schools. We have some very gifted children in Warrington area and we wanted to celebrate their achievement.”
