WARRINGTON bands Blast Tyrant and Roughneck Riot will join Scouting For Girls as festival headliners for the town’s music weekend in July.
The line-up has been unveiled for the eighth Warrington Music Festival and will include a big top stage in Bank Park this year.
More than 60 bands have been revealed across two stages and more acts will be announced for a youth carnival.
The event runs from Friday, July 18, to Sunday, July 20, and is free apart from Scouting For Girls’ set at Golden Square which closes the festival on Sunday night.
The London trio will be joined by Warrington’s Conquer Rio and Kim Jennett.
Blast Tyrant are a metal band with some members from Orford while six-piece folk punk rockers The Roughneck Riot features musicians from Great Sankey, Padgate and Howley.
Warrington Music Festival is organised by Culture Warrington, Jukebox Events and Golden Square with support from Warrington Borough Council.
Chris Persoglio, festival promoter, said: “It’s our eighth year and there’s a lot to shout about where local and regional talent is concerned.
“This year sees more than 60 bands playing their hearts out for the people of Warrington with the added bonus of playing on the same stage as Ivor Novello and Brit Award winners Scouting For Girls.
“This will be a great year for music in the town.”
Steve Oates, co-promoter from Jukebox Events, added: “Everyone involved in the organisation of the event is really excited about how things have come together this year.
“The support that we've received from Warrington Borough Council and Culture Warrington has been fantastic and it's great that we've been able to sustain the provision of a headline show and develop the quality of the other events too.”
