THE flowerbeds which line parts of Golden Square have been transformed as part of the shopping centre’s environmental programme.
The centre appointed St Helens based Tommy Edwards, aged 28, and his business Tuckers Trees and Turf, to replant the beds which line Midland Way after looking neglected.
They are now packed with beautiful blooms including lavender.
The old plants have been donated to Acorn Venture Arm before the beds were replanted, an organisation that supports children and adults with special needs and disabilities.
Ian Cox, general manager at Golden Square, said: “Replanting the flower beds has really brightened up the area, and we’re thrilled to be able to contribute to the local community in this way. We look forward to hearing what the public have to say about it too.
“We are committed to involving members of the community as much as possible, and having a local business, such as Tuckers Turf and Trees carry out the work for us was important.”
