A COUPLE who have fostered more than 90 babies are among the good and great to be honoured in the Queen’s Birthday List.


Ros and Warren Whalley, aged 71 and 70, have been handed MBEs for their tireless devotion to looking after youngsters as well as their own four children.


They are also responsible for raising donations for the Children’s Christmas Selection Boxes and drawing together the arrangements for events for children in care.


Devotion to the Lymm community has earnt Raymond Broadsmith a British Empire Medal.


The 48-year-old has been a volunteer for Lymm May Queen Festival, which takes place tomorrow, since 1975 when he was just 10-years-old.


And since 1986 he has run his own milk delivery, taking the time to check on elderly residents to even clearing snowy paths.


And 21-year-old Ashley Terron, from Grappenhall, has also picked up the British Empire Medal for his services to skills.


He won gold at the trades equivalent of the Olympics World Skills 2013 event in bricklaying.


With his success he has used it to demonstrate how apprenticeships can help young people to achieve great things with experience as well as qualifications.
