SHE may have been one of the youngest candidate to stand in the recent Youth Parliament elections in Warrington.

But Beamont Collegiate Academy pupil Rose Warburton proved that age is just a number after being announced as the next Youth Parliament member on Friday after nearly 4,000 young people voted in the elections last week.

The 15-year-old along with two new deputies, Rachel Davies, aged 15, for Warrington North and Tim Hammersley, aged 17, for Warrington South, will represent the views of youths in Warrington as well as addressing issues on their behalf.

She said: “I can’t wait to start work with Rachel and Tim to improve our town for young people.

“I’m confident that with hard work and enthusiasm we can achieve great things and contribute to a positive future. I’m so excited to meet other young people and explore their views and opinions.”
