A MUM of three is appealing for information after a concrete slab was thrown through her living room window by two masked men, narrowly missing her three-year-old daughter who was asleep on the couch.

Nicola Lloyd is urging anyone who saw anything to come forward after two men launched the attack on her home on Beverley Avenue in Appleton.

The 33-year-old was in her living room with her son, Tai, and partner, Kevin, on Friday, May 16 at around 11.30pm when they first heard a knock on the door.

“We looked through the window and there was no one there so we just assumed it was someone drunk who was messing about,” recalled Nicola.

But there was another knock on the door at 12am and when the couple opened the curtains to look outside they spotted a tall person with a dark jumper on.

She said: “My partner knocked on the window and he turned around with a balaclava on and brandished a weapon that looked like a knife.

“Another guy in a balaclava appeared from the other side of the door with a weapon that looked like a gun.”

In a bid to scare off the two men, Kevin picked up an axe - used for chopping wood for the open fire - and held it up to window before walking out of the living room towards to the front door while Nicola phoned the police.

“This huge piece of concrete came flying through the window. I had just jumped up from that spot too just in time as there could have been two murders. They wanted to hurt us,” she said.

The couple’s older children, Skye, aged eight, and Joshua, aged 11, were asleep upstairs at the time of the incident.

The two men appeared to run away in the direction of the London Bridge Inn.

The window has since been fixed but the family now live in fear that it could happen again.

Anyone with information is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 12 of Sunday, May 17 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
